How do you get your cult like followers on your blog to buy from you without losing the genuine essence of why they follow you especially when your identity is anonymous? That was the question posed to us by the enigmatic person of “Dairy of a Naija Girl” – DANG. She looked to us to bring to life for the first time, the DANG Lifestyle brand with the launch of an array of scented candles as the first products on the brand.

The Mission

The mission was to utilize subtle but engaging interactive storytelling to capture the sophisticated and luxurious aesthetic in a minimalist way that will speak to their high-end clientele.

The Solution

By maximizing the potentials of the existing brand love, we developed an engaging yet personalized and simple docu-story to introduce the experience of key persons with the products. We got celebrity and non-celebrity friends of DANG to share their first reaction with the scented candles amongst other trick and intimate questions about their life that the followers would enjoy and love about them.

The campaign launched with a teaser that set the tone for the entire expectation for the product. We also created high quality 3D and 4D visual montage rendition of the products to set the first imagery for the followers. Each reviewer described their personal experience with each scented candle and mapped their personality to each fragrance, extending it as an endorsement. 

Subtle interactive embellished photography combined with provided the sophisticated and luxurious context to match product and offering.

The Result

Over 600k video views (14 Videos) with an average of 40,000 views per video during the teaser stages and lifestyle social media page growth of 14k followers in 4 days. In 6 hours of releasing the launch date, we had sold over 70% on pre-order and sold out the entire production batch on launch date. The return batch also got sold out in 24 hours. The brand reached a new audience with engagements through the roof on sharing and comments as the content was local, relevant and share worthy, it put DANG followers at the heart of the communication and business strategy and endeared the brand to be tried even by those who had never heard of DANG before.
